Wrap both compresses (hot and cold) in a separate pads or towels before using them as they should not be applied directly to the skin. The heat can be either dry or moist warmth.

Place gently on your stiff joints or the affected area for about 3 minutes, don’t use on an open wound or stitches. Remove the compress and put a cold compress in it and place for about a minute.

***Cayenne pepper may initially cause a deep burning sensation. Do not apply it open on your skin or wounds.
